Honteri adds a beautiful lustre to the sauce and a savoury sweetness that is lost if you just use sugar. Japanese cooking tends to cook with the teriyaki sauce, but you can thicken or reduce to use as a marinade or glaze as required.
1 part Honteri + 1 part soy sauce
An aromatic Tsuyu broth that can be used as a finishing sauce for many dishes such as agadeshi tofu, donburi, tortellini, and dumplings.
1 part Honteri + 1 part soy sauce + 3 part dashi
With aromatic Asian flavours.
1 part Honteri + 1 part soy sauce + 1 part rice wine vinegar + 1 part sesame oil
Add garlic puree, chilli oil to taste
Garnish with sesame seeds, sliced spring onions, grated ginger and chilli flakes for texture

Reduce for 3 minutes to thicken to create a glaze like texture.
